CamelBak M.U.L.E. Review

We take a look at the CamelBak M.U.L.E. a lightweight hydration backpack. And the gear carried inside

CamelBak M.U.L.E.

We had a chance to review some EDC gear from the EDC Depot.com online store. The items arrived in about two days, were packaged well and nothing was damaged. No extra packaging to throw away either. And a FREE spy capsule (pill fob) !!!

We received a TOPs Pocket Size Survival Saw and a Cord Lock Light made by Black Crater. I opened the box and set out threw contents for this photo, and then there was a blur of hands and I had to wait a while to get the items back for more photos.

This Bianchi Military Magazine Pouch works well for a Digital Camera. This pouch is designed for two high cap pistol magazines, but it also works well to carry and protect this Kodak C713 digital camera. The Camera is held securely and is protected in this pouch. The M1025 has a standard belt loop and a Bianchi Quick-Lock belt fastener which offers many secure attachment options. This Kodak C713 digital camera has a length of 550 cord attached and there is just enough room in the Bianchi pouch to wrap up the cord along with the camera

Another great product from Eagle Industries. This 3 day pack offers enough storage for most people on a three day event. This MOLLE model offers PALS webbing around the pack for MOLLE pouches and gear. There are two large compartments in this pack which are easy to get into via the sturdy well sewn zippers. This pack has an Eagle Industries utility pouch with an Eagle Industries magazine pouch on each side on the outside MOLLE. The Eagle AIII MOLLE Assault Pack offers many attachment points around the pack and on each shoulder strap. Of all the mid size packs we have owned, reviewed or inspected, this one really stands out as a well made, modular, heavy duty pack.

Eagle A-III Pack MOLLE Review

We had a chance to take a few pictures of this modified utility pouch that is being used as a dump pouch for empty magazines durring shooting drills and firearms training classes. Inside the top of the pouch are 8 elastic loops for shotgun shells (or something that size) and there was one narrow pocket at the front of the main pouch. The pouch has modified to hold the flap back against the back to keep the pouch open for quick access. It has been further modified by adding some side pockets to keep small items at hand as well

Modified Utility Pouch / Dump Pouch

We bought a Sat Com Bag (Satellite Communication Bag) from an online supplier. It is a mid-quality bag. Made overseas, with mid-quality materials. It is designed to hold a fold up satellite antenna and a length of cable. So the shape and function of the bag are designed around that piece of gear. This bag is 20 inches long and 6 inches tall and 6 inches wide. This one has one large compartment, and zippered side compartments. There is also a non zippered inside pocket that was used for the length of wire cable. This bag has one wide, padded shoulder strap and carry handles at each end of the bag for ease in carrying and grabbing the bag. There is plenty of PALS webbing around the sides, back and even on the carry strap, so many smaller pouches can be easily and securely mounted to this bag. There are plastic (glass filled nylon?) clasps on the carry strap and strap adjustment. These parts are also mid-quality. We have only just received this bag, so we have not had time to use and abuse it, but looking at the quality of materials and construction, it seems this bag will last through typical use for quite a while, however it would fail quickly with heavy use or abuse

Satellite Antenna Bag Review

The Camelback H.A.W.G. is a good size pack for hiking and bicycling. The pack is not too large, but it is roomy enough to hold essential gear. In addition it has a pocket for an MP3 player at the top of the bag. This pack holds 100 ounces of water (3 liters) so it is a good choice for hot climates where a lot of water is needed

It's shape and design let the user pull to cut and the blade is protected so only the intended items are cut. This compact webbing cutter has a fitted sheath designed to hold the 7 Hook securely while still offering quick access to the knife. A well made and easy to use tool

The Benchmade 8 Hook is a one handed webbing cutter made from one piece of440C Stainless Steel. Its design offers a one handed grip that lets the user securely hold the cutter even under wet or slippery conditions. The Benchmade 8 Hook comes with a black nylon pouch that holds the cutter and offers quick access to the tool. This high quality webbing knife is designed and built to be useful in an emergency. Any one working as emergency rescue personnel would do well to have one of these on their belt or rescue bag. The MOLLE compatible sheath and included MALICE Clip allow the cutter to be placed at almost any location on most vests, bags or chest rigs. This webbing cutter can be used to slice through seat belts or tactical gear. When removing heavy duty gear in an emergency this tool cuts gear and not the person under it.
